NF-kB
Transcription factor driving inflammatory gene expression
- Expression change
- Constitutively activated
- Evidence level
- moderate
Expression across diseases
| Disease | Role | Expression | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Systemic Mastocytosis | Transcription factor driving inflammatory gene expression | Constitutively activated | moderate |
| Waldenström's Macroglobulinemia | Transcription factor driving B-cell survival | Constitutively activated | established |
Role in pathogenesis
NF-kB is activated downstream of KIT D816V signaling. Drives expression of inflammatory cytokines, chemokines, and survival factors. Contributes to both mast cell survival and the inflammatory microenvironment.
