STAT5

Key transcription factor in KIT D816V signaling

Expression
Constitutively phosphorylated
Evidence level
strong

Role in pathogenesis

STAT5 is constitutively activated by KIT D816V and localizes to the cytoplasm to form a signaling complex with PI3K. Knockdown of STAT5 inhibits neoplastic mast cell growth. Essential mediator of the STAT5-PI3K-AKT cascade.
