Role in pathogenesis
ILC2s are the innate counterpart of Th2 cells. They respond to alarmins (IL-33, IL-25, TSLP) by producing large amounts of IL-5 and IL-13 without antigen-specific activation. Critical for initiating and sustaining eosinophilic inflammation.
